It takes a village…

to raise a child is an African proverb that means it takes an entire community of people to interact with children for those children to experience and grow in a safe and healthy environment. Basically, the villagers look out for the children and pitch in where needed.

 

Our modern day “village” of today is unique and comprised of many ways to ensure our children of today become the wise and strong light of tomorrow. Some family units are big, some are small, while some may have extended family members for added support. Most villages include school or homeschooling for education as well as places of worship, community activities, sports, family and friends for social growth and development.

 

Whatever the village, it is the natural way to receive knowledge, wisdom and resources needed to create a strong child and most likely a strong child grows up to become the successful individual God intended them to be…and it starts with a village.

 

But what happens when that village is fragile? When the village is broken apart or there is no village to begin with? Sadly, for many pregnant women and new mothers struggling, the village is not yet developed or is dysfunctional. Unfortunately, leaving countless women helpless, hopeless and alone.

This is where You and I can make a difference. We can help become a village for the lost and abandoned. We need a village of miracle workers to support our moms so they can raise strong children who will ultimately become the light of this world and the hope for tomorrow.
